7-Day Prayer Guide for Guatemala Mission Trip
Day 1: Pray for the Mission Team’s Preparation
Scripture: “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” – Proverbs 16:3 (ESV)

Day 2: Pray for Safe Travel
Scripture: “The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.” – Psalm 121:8 (ESV)

Day 3: Pray for Open Hearts in Guatemala
Scripture: “And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you.” – Ezekiel 36:26a (ESV)

Guatemala Team Prayer Requests
Wesley Booker: Pray that the language barrier will not keep Wesley from boldly sharing the love of Christ.
Courtney Dewey: Pray for Courtney’s family and their safety while she is gone. Pray that her kids understand the importance of missions.
Ronnie Guinn: Pray for genuine Gospel conversations and the eyes to recognize them.
Dylan Jobe: Pray for Dylan to be well-spoken and that he represents MVBC the best he can.
Kaylea Jobe: Pray for Kaylea’s heart and health to stay strong.
Megan McFerron: Pray for a smooth week for Megan’s family back home and for her to be sensitive and make connections with those in need of the Gospel.
Barrie O’Bannon: Pray for Barrie’s blood sugar to stay in nomral range and that he makes lasting relationships with those in Guatemala

Prayer Points:
- Pray for each team member’s spiritual preparation and unity.
- Ask God to give clarity in lesson planning and communication.
- Pray for physical health and safety.
Day 2: Pray for Safe Travel
Scripture: “The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.” – Psalm 121:8 (ESV)
Prayer Points:
- Pray safe ground transportation while the team is in Guatemala
- Ask God to protect luggage and materials (especially VBS supplies).
- Pray for peace and calmness during travel through possible rough terrain
Day 3: Pray for Open Hearts in Guatemala
Scripture: “And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you.” – Ezekiel 36:26a (ESV)
Prayer Points:
- Pray that the children and families in Guatemala will be open to hearing the Gospel.
- Ask God to prepare the hearts of the local community.
- Pray for God’s favor as relationships begin to form.

- Pray for each Bible story, craft, song, and activity to clearly point to Jesus.
- Ask God to help overcome language or cultural barriers.
- Pray for joy, energy, and patience for every team member.
Day 5: Pray for the Local Church and Partners
Scripture: “For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.” – 1 Corinthians 3:9 (ESV)
Prayer Points:
- Pray for the local church and missionaries in Guatemala who will follow up.
- Ask God to strengthen partnerships and long-term fruit from this mission.
- Pray for encouragement and growth for local believers.
Day 6: Pray for Lives to be Changed
Scripture: “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty…” – Isaiah 55:11 (ESV)
Prayer Points:
- Pray for children & adults to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior.
- Ask God to call some to a deeper faith or even future ministry.
- Pray that seeds planted would grow in fertile soil.
Day 7: Pray for the Mission Team’s Return and Continued Impact
Scripture: “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!” – Psalm 96:3 (ESV)
Prayer Points:
- Pray for safe travel home and good health.
- Ask God to help the team process and share what He has done.
- Pray that their experiences would continue to bear fruit in their lives and the church.
