MVBC Staff & Leadership

The staff and leadership here at MVBC is comprised of men and women who love, care and pray for every single person in the church. If you have questions for any of our staff, feel free to reach out and email them or call our church office to speak with them.

  • DAVID MCFERRON

    Pastor

    David graduated from high school in Gentry, AR. He received his bachelor's degree from Central Baptist College where he played soccer for the Mustangs. David met his wife Megan at CBC. Megan is a contract therapist. They have a daughter Genevieve "Evie" (2013) and three sons Maverick (2015), Tate David (2017) and Miller (2019).   


    David graduated in 2015 with a Masters degree in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. David has served as youth pastor at other churches before coming to Mount Vernon. He also has served as worship leader for many youth and college events. David enjoys playing the guitar, golf, soccer, hanging with his family, and he loves the Razorbacks. David's passions are hunting ducks and seeing people walk with Jesus. 


  • BARRIE O'BANNON

    YOUTH Pastor

    Barrie graduated from high school in Greenbrier, AR. He is currently working on his bachelor’s degree in Leadership and Ministry from Central Baptist College. He and his wife, Lacey, have been married for eight years. Lacey is a CBC graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She serves as a loan assistant at First Security Bank. Barrie and Lacey have two boys, Camden (2014) and Levi (2018).

     

    Barrie plans to further his education at seminary after graduating with his bachelor’s degree. Prior to coming to MVBC, Barrie served as youth pastor at LifeSong Baptist Church in Greenbrier, AR. There, he worked as part-time youth pastor while working full-time in the construction field. Barrie followed God’s calling into full-time ministry and joined MVBC as youth pastor in June 2016.


    Barrie enjoys drinking coffee, discussing philosophy & theology, playing cards/board games, chess, and wrestling with his boys. Barrie was born in New Orleans, LA and will proudly let you know of his love for the Saints (NFL) and Pelicans (NBA). Above all, Barrie loves God and loves watching people of all ages grow in their relationship with Him.

  • ASHLEY BONDS

    MEDIA & ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE PASTOR

    Ashley is a transplant to the Mount Vernon-Enola area and is originally from southern Arkansas. She graduated from Drew Central High School in Monticello and earned a bachelor’s degree at Arkansas Tech University. After teaching for several years and following her husband Bill around the southern United States with his job, she returned to education to pursue a master’s degree in Library Media & Information Technologies at the University of Central Arkansas. She was a school library media specialist for many years before deciding to find work closer to home. She is currently teaching Family and Consumer Science at Mount Vernon-Enola High School and working as an administrative assistant to our pastor in conjunction with creating and running media on Sunday mornings.


    Ashley enjoys creating things, including quilting, crocheting and baking. She also works part-time as a graphic designer designing invitations and other print media. Most days, you will find her either in the kitchen with her students baking treats or in her favorite chair crocheting her latest project. 


    Ashley is married to Bill and has one son, two step-sons, a step-daughter, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two spoiled rotten pups, Molly & Satchmo.
